Mocking
Empaizo (1702) En - in; Pazio - sport, play, beaten with impunity, slave; jeer, deride, mock, ridicule
Verses - Mat 20:19 Mark 10:34 Luke 14:29 Acts 17:22 Gal 6:7 Heb 11:36 Jude ver.18
First Use: Genesis 19:14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place (Sodom); for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
2Peter 3:3,4 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of His (Jesus) coming?

Mocking is to ridicule, people mock what they do not understand. Mocking is a way to deal with something different. Mocking is the age-old technique of knocking something else in an attempt to establish yourself. Mocking in no way establishes the ridiculer; instead the mocker is just defacing themselves.

Mocking encompasses a wide range of offenses. When someone is presented with a new idea or a new concept, and especially if the person finds the new idea to challenge his or her existing beliefs, a common reaction is to ridicule the new concept, this is a common reaction. This often light mocking is a test to find out more and to determine the conviction of the person presenting the new idea. This type of mocking is only a barrier of defense that the person is putting up in order to delay making a decision and to find out more about the topic.

The more that a person knows about the topic, and the more the person has rejected the topic, usually the more critical and dangerous the mocking becomes. For instance a person that has grown up with strict religion may know about the Bible, having rejected the Bible the person when mocking can be very devastating, because they have a familiarity of the subject.

A person that has for instance been a Christian and maybe even a Pastor or a teacher and has rejected Christianity, for any of a variety of reasons, then has the real potential to become an enemy of the cross of Jesus. Many people that have left the faith, have done so because they had certain expectations, and then felt that God did not honor their expectation. This is very dangerous; nowhere does the Bible tell us to have any worldly expectations. To have worldly expectations is to set ourselves up for worldly disappointment. It is unfair and unjust to then transfer our disappointment in the world to disappointment in God. A person who has done this is usually out to demonstrate their disappointment, and mocking is a favored technique.

Mocking is seldom if ever the truth in fact mocking is an abstract, so mocking should never be taken seriously as fact. Since mocking is how other people express their views it is a way to learn the views of others and it should inspire us to further the knowledge of our belief in God and the Bible. But remember mocking means that they are unfamiliar, unknowledgeable, and uncomfortable with the presented topic, do not give mocking the credibility that the person is seeking.

1Corinthians 2:14,15 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned. But he that is Spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

Deceived
Periastrapto (4015) Peri - around, about; Astratpo - light, shine, lighten; to envelope in light, shine around
Verses - Mat 24:4,5,11,24 1Cor 6:9 Gal 6:7 1Tim 2:14 2Tim 3:13 Rev 12:9
First Use: Genesis 31:7 And your father (Laban) hath deceived me (Jacob), and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

Deceived is to think that a lie is actually the truth and to embrace and hold a lie instead of the truth. People will go a long way for what they think is the truth. If someone has accepted as truth and believes that space aliens exist, they will process all thought information to continue their belief of space aliens. They will also preach their truth, which is actually a lie, to other people attempting to persuade others of their position. The deceived will embrace any hardship or disagreement, as persecution. Feeling persecuted they will then remain even more steadfast in their position while reason; facts or circumstances will have little bearing on their position. Since people will fight harder for what they think is the truth, than a lie, Satan has done a big job of convincing many people to believe lies and then gotten them to fight vigorously to defend what is simply a lie.

2Cor 11:13,14 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. The battle for the truth begins and ends in the mind. Deception can only occur first in the thought process, and then our actions are carried out by what we believe from our thoughts. The battle for the mind is revealed in the Bible as the battle for a walled and gated city. The gates of the city are where the legal decisions (cities thought process) were made. If during an attack the enemy could gain possession and control the gates of a city then the city would be helpless and would be in the hands of the enemy as the enemy controlled all access into and out of the city. Genesis 25:60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

We possess our own gates or faculties, but we are susceptible to lies and deception, so the correct thing for us to do is to entrust our gates, to God. We need daily to be refreshed from God, by meeting Him in prayer and Bible devotions. In modern times we are bombarded with information from every variety of media, most of the information is just simply deceit. The only truth we will ever find in this world is written in the pages of the Bible. God leads those who want to be led by Him; God will lead us in paths of righteousness. So lets look to God and not to information that comes from people who deny the very existence of God. Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

John 3:19 And this is condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Good advice: "Don't confuse me with the facts."
Oh, and your wrong about mocking not being truth. Mocking is most effective and most devestating when it IS the truth.

**Deceived is to think that a lie is actually the truth and to embrace and hold a lie instead of the truth. People will go
a long way for what they think is the truth. If someone has accepted as truth and believes that space aliens exist,
they will process all thought information to continue their belief of space aliens. They will also preach their truth,
which is actually a lie, to other people attempting to persuade others of their position. The deceived will embrace
any hardship or disagreement, as persecution. Feeling persecuted they will then remain even more steadfast in
their position while reason; facts or circumstances will have little bearing on their position. Since people will fight
harder for what they think is the truth, than a lie, Satan has done a big job of convincing many people to believe
lies and then gotten them to fight vigorously to defend what is simply a lie.**
There is much truth in this. The largest deception occurs when a person is decieved into believing a lie that cannot be proven.

**2Cor 11:13,14 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of
Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.**

This is where deception gains most. Those that SEEM 'good' being in fact evil. Yet after they gain the trust & love of others, those will support them & their lies even in the face of the truth.

** The battle for the truth begins
and ends in the mind. Deception can only occur first in the thought process, and then our actions are carried out
by what we believe from our thoughts. The battle for the mind is revealed in the Bible as the battle for a walled
and gated city. The gates of the city are where the legal decisions (cities thought process) were made. If during
an attack the enemy could gain possession and control the gates of a city then the city would be helpless and
would be in the hands of the enemy as the enemy controlled all access into and out of the city.**

Here you understate the importance of holding the gates of a walled city. Once an enemy has breached the gate, few are so content as to stop there, & merely control access. No, instead the enemy pours in, & slays & enslaves those of the city. The city is now held by the foriegners. Also it is crucial to know whom to admit into the city. While even a fool would know to close the gates against an Army, the gates cannot remain closed, or the city dies from starvation. Wise is who knows whom to admit, & whom is in reality an Agent of the foe, come to slay the gate guards when the Army approaches...

I believe this post was directed at people on this forum such as myself. I do not "mock", I debate. Ever think that, perhaps, the reason I give you such a hard time is because I'm trying to make you think, trying to make you better at defending yourself against people like me? I'm not the only one out here in the big, wide world who is familiar with not only the Bible but also with Occultism, history and science.

I realized a long time ago (when I was 11) that there is no philosophical point to be reached in arguing religion or the nature of God with someone who already has their beliefs set in stone. Doing such is similar to banging your head against a brick wall. It gets you nowhere... However, if an argument is posed in the correct manner, you can actually educate your opponent and make them better with their own argument. The more skilled the contestants in the debate, the more both sides can learn from one another. And I realize that there are many out there who only have basis in one area of study but almost none in other areas of interest that are essential for a topic as complex as God.

It is written to help Christians and others understand part of the nature of criticism. Noting that criticism covers a range from friendly to dangerous.
But I could see why you would think this was written to you!

I do appreciate your comments and the comments of others, Although many of the comments are so biased against God that it renders them unbelievable.

I think the premises is that; we exist; life exists; (but God the creator of all Life doesnt Exist?); so therefore God Has to Exist. This Atheist view that God is the only One who cannot possible exist, too me just seems vengeful. Obviously Atheist have a personal vengeance against God, but that does not make God nonexistent.

There is no plausible concept that if we as individuals dont understand it or dont believe then it doesnt exist.

Im not saying that you are an Atheist Im just talking about non-Believers in general.

I didn't think the post was directed specifically at me, but rather all of us attackers you've been getting on the board lately. You've been coming under a lot of fire as of late and, quite frankly, I'm rather impressed at how you respond to all of it at once. Where do you get the time?
Atheists are an interesting lot because they don't bother themselves with religion of any sort. Therefore, I don't think they really have a personal problem with God. This is probably the reason Atheists live longer with fewer health problems and have a lower divorce rate then the rest of the religious world. True, religious people live longer overall, but usually incur health problems more readily.

Also, many Atheists aren't really Atheists, however its easier to say you're an Atheist than a follower of the Left-Hand Path, an Agnostic or a Gnostic, etc. People like to see things in terms of black and white. Its easier to bend the truth than it is to explain yourself for a hour when the one you're explaining it to is, most likely, just going to categorize you despite the explanation.

...so sorry, must interject here...not mocking...just pointing something out...don't be alarmed...(holds up hands above head)
"Although many of the comments are so biased against God that it renders them unbelievable. "

Well, you have the opposite problem, Dave. You are so biased FOR god that it reders your arguments unbelievable.

I personally believe in the laws of nature, and eventually even those begin to break down at some point, but then...its all one...

Je te remercie!
